If you use solid phase synthesis to make your compounds you can cut down the length of your wash cycles by using a silica based linker. Because they are surface functionalized and neither swell nor shrink silica based linkers do not need the labor intensive washing that polymer does. With silica based linkers you will perform fewer washes, without having to change solvent and the few that are required will be shorter since you won't have to wait for material to diffuse out of the polymer.
