ZORBAX SAX and SCX Ion Exchange Columns
Organic modifiers such as acetonitrile and methanol may be used with ZORBAX SAX and 300SCX columns, within organic/buffer solubility constraints. Retention can be controlled by varying pH, ionic strength and organic modifier content. Trifunctional organosilane reagents are used to produce both of these packings in order to provide maximum stability with aqueous mobile phases.
ZORBAX SAX
ZORBAX SAX is a polar bonded-phase packing for high efficiency anion-exchange HPLC, and consists of an ammonium-functionalized silane, chemically bonded to 70 Ångstrom pore size ZORBAX SIL particles. Typical applications include several classes of organic acids such as aromatic and aliphatic carboxylic acids and sulfonic acids. Specific application areas include pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, inorganic anions, and biological species such as nucleotides and glucosinolates.
ZORBAX 300SCX
ZORBAX 300SCX is a classical strong cation exchange, polar bonded-phase packing, which consists of an aromatic sulfonic acid moiety covalently bonded to ZORBAX PSM 300 particles (300 Ångstrom porous silica microspheres). Typical applications of ZORBAX 300SCX include those normally used for separating basic water-soluble compounds. Specific applications include organic bases such as basic amino acids, anilines, drug salts, inorganic cations, and nucleosides. ZORBAX SAX and 300SCX Column Specifications |
