Crawford Scientific Training - Frequently Asked Questions

The Crawford Scientific training business was started in 1998 by Tony Taylor who is still actively involved in the development and delivery of training.

We provide a wide range of different training related to Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (HPLC, GC, MS, SPE) along with ancillary analytical chemistry subjects such as Basic Lab Skills, Introduction to Chemistry, Analytical Method Validation, Statistics for Analytical Chemists’ and many, many more.

All our Chromatographic and Spectrometric courses are separated into ‘learning streams’ with different levels representing to the prior knowledge and experience recommended.  Level 1 courses are designed for those new to the subject or as a re-cap for those with experience with the later Levels aimed at those with pre-existing knowledge and experience.  By completing the ‘contact me form – include link here’ one of trainers can contact you to discuss the best course(s )for your based on your requirements and knowledge and experience.

The prices for our scheduled classroom and practical courses can be found by clicking on the link below.  Prices for on-site and customised courses can be obtained by completing the ‘contact us form’ and discussing with one of our training advisors and consultants.

Our scheduled off-site classroom and practical courses can booked up to the day before the course.  However, as most of our courses, especially the practical courses, fill up the maximum allocation, we recommend that delegates book early to avoid disappointment.

If you need to cancel your booking, your cancellation notice must be received in writing at least 14 days before the course delivery date. A charge of 20% of the course fee will be made to cover administration and manual preparation costs. Cancellations received less than 14 days before the course delivery are non-refundable.

Current venues for our classroom based off-site courses are Reading, Glasgow, Warrington, Milton Keynes and Basingstoke. Our practical off-site courses are currently scheduled for London, Manchester (Runcorn), Sunderland and Strathclyde.  Please view the Training Calendar for a full list of scheduled courses near you.

All Crawford Scientific training courses are delivered by professional trainers and you will also receive a comprehensive delegate handbook on the course for your future reference.  Even our most practical based courses, such as the Troubleshooting and Maitenance range of courses will include training on chromatographic and / or spectrometric separations – whist it’s useful knowing how to take an instrument module apart, it’s even better knowing how to put it back together and even better knowing when to take it apart i.e. when the observed issue is arising from an instrument fault or a method related issue!

We frequently have delegates travelling from oversees to attend a number of our courses.  We do have customers travelling from oversees to attend specially laid on customised courses at one of our practical venues.  We also do carry out training oversees and have course material translated into a number of languages.  If you are looking for a series of specifically laid on courses or wihs to be trained at your own venue oversees please complete the ‘contact us form’ from and we shall be in touch.
