Tobacco Product Directive (TPD2) Article 20
This Directive, which is based on the proposal of the European Commission, came into force on 19th May 2014 and became applicable in the EU Member States on 20th May 2016 aims to ensure a high level of health protection for European citizens. Article 20 of the TPD places obligation on the manufacturers and importers of electronic cigarettes to submit a notification to the authorities of the Member States of such products they intend to market.
Article 20 of TPD2 requires the notification to include a list of the emissions which result from the use of the product, it states that emissions testing should be carried out at least once on each flavour and on each combination of flavours and it is here Hall Analytical can support you.
We recognise that Emission analysis of Electronic Cigarettes and their components are different from that of traditional tobacco products and as such our methodologies for sample collection and extraction reflect this. We have developed and validated in-house methodology to screen for the below list of analytes, which has been generated based on guidance from the MHRA, the compounds specified in the Data Dictionary and our knowledge of other regulatory requirements.
