Developed in 2003 by Anastassiades et al, this innovative approach to pesticide extraction from fruits and vegetables has now become a routine sample prep technique in many laboratories.

Interestingly, QuEChERS is not confined to this initial application anymore, and an ever increasing number of simple yet powerful methods now span a wide range of analytes and complex matrices. Useful tips for method development are found below.
