SiELC Obelisc R HPLC Columns

SiELC Obelisc R is a mixed-mode column based on LiSC (Liquid Separation Cell technology) and is designed for use in traditional reversed-phase applications. LiSC technology is based on a chemical modification of the silica gel pores that creates a liquid separation cell with its own charge characteristics, ionic strength, and hydrophobic properties.

Obelisc R has a stationary phase with cationic groups close to the silica surface separated from anionic groups by a hydrophobic chain. Due to the presence of ionic groups and a long hydrophobic chain, Obelisc R offers additional retention and tuning that is not available with traditional reversed-phase columns. Typical mobile phases used are based acetonitrile, water, and the mass spectrometry compatible buffers ammonium formate (pH 3) and ammonium acetate (pH 5).

Features

  • Due to the presence of ionic groups and a long hydrophobic chain, Obelisc R provides additional retention and tuning that traditional reversed-phase columns cannot offer
  • Multiple separation modes available including reversed phase, normal phase, and ion exclusion
  • Compatible with LC-MS, ELSD, and low UV (<220 nm) with low concentration buffers
  • Adjustable selectivity in all modes based on organic content, pH, and buffer strength
  • Obelisc range also includes Obelisc N with normal phase characteristics
  • Scalable from capillary to prep
  • Guard columns connect directly to columns and do not require any additional holders
