GL Sciences HandyTD Portable Thermal Desorber

The GL Sciences HandyTD Portable Thermal Desorber is a compact instrument designed for the manual thermal desorption of samples prior to GC analysis. The device thermally desorbs analytes from standard thermal desorption tubes and transfers them directly into the GC inlet via a dedicated injection needle. During operation, carrier gas supplied from the GC carrier gas line passes through the instrument, transporting the desorbed compounds directly into the GC inlet for analysis.

The HandyTD is designed for straightforward bench-top operation without the need for external computer control. A colour display and touch panel provide a step-by-step wizard to guide the user through the desorption procedure, simplifying operation and improving consistency. Compatible with industry-standard ¼ x 3½ inch (6.35 x 88.9 mm) glass thermal desorption tubes, the HandyTD provides a compact, space-saving solution that can be used with virtually any model of GC or GC-MS.

Features

  • Manual Thermal Desorption Device – Designed for direct thermal desorption of samples collected on sorbent tubes prior to GC analysis
  • Direct Injection into GC – Desorbed analytes are transferred directly into the GC inlet via an integrated injection needle
  • Compatible with Standard TD Tubes – Supports industry-standard ¼ × 3½ inch (6.35 × 88.9 mm) thermal desorption tubes
  • Integrated Gas Control – Operates from the GC carrier gas supply and incorporates electronic pressure and flow control (EPFC)
  • Fast Heating Capability – Patented heating technology enables rapid temperature increase for efficient desorption
  • Touch Panel Operation – Standalone operation without the need for PC control
  • Compact, Space-Saving Design – Small footprint suitable for integration with a wide range of GC systems
