GL Sciences OPTIC-5
The GL Sciences OPTIC-5 Multipurpose Inlet is an advanced gas chromatograph inlet system designed to provide highly flexible and precise sample introduction for demanding analytical applications. Building on the long development history of OPTIC inlet technology, the OPTIC-5 incorporates sophisticated temperature programming and gas flow control to support a wide range of injection techniques, including hot and cold split/splitless injection, large-volume solvent-vent injection, on-column injection, in-liner derivatisation, thermal desorption and pyrolysis. Its patented injector body design promotes efficient transfer of both volatile and high-boiling compounds onto the analytical column, while the low thermal mass construction enables rapid cooling and heating for improved analytical performance.
The OPTIC-5 platform is available in three main configurations: the OPTIC-5 multipurpose inlet for general flexible injection techniques, the OPTIC-5 Thermal Desorber version for applications using thermal desorption tubes, and the OPTIC-5 Pyroliser version for high-temperature pyrolysis workflows. All configurations can be combined with a range of advanced options, including cryogenic trapping, inlet backflush, automated liner exchange and automated sampling integration. The system is supplied with a dedicated control unit and OPTIControl software for real-time monitoring and method control and is compatible with most GC and GC–MS instruments.
