Gilson PLATEMASTER

The Gilson PLATEMASTER is a manual, high-throughput pipetting system designed for efficient filling of 96- and 384-well microplates. Available in two models – P20 (0.5–20 µL) and P220 (2–220 µL) – it uses a 96-channel format to significantly reduce the number of pipetting steps compared with conventional multichannel pipettes. This approach enables rapid plate processing, with 96-well plates typically filled in approximately 10–20 seconds and 384-well plates completed in under one minute using four dispensing steps. By enabling simultaneous liquid handling across all wells, it supports consistent initiation and termination of reactions, contributing to improved reproducibility across assays.

The system operates without the need for electrical power or programming, maintaining a workflow similar to that of a PIPETMAN while extending throughput. Its design reduces the likelihood of user-related inconsistencies such as skipped or repeated wells, while maintaining accuracy and precision comparable to standard multichannel pipettes. For optimal performance and specification compliance, it is recommended for use with PIPETMAN DIAMOND Tips or AmpliPur Expert Tips. A range of compatible accessories, including plate adapters, reagent reservoirs, and heating blocks, allows adaptation to varied laboratory applications such as PCR/qPCR, ELISA, cell culture, compound screening, and crystallography. The compact and portable format facilitates use across different laboratory environments, including benchtops, fume hoods, and cold rooms.
