HANDS-ON OPERATING AND UNDERSTANDING LC-MS
Practical in-person training delivered by Crawford Scientific's highly experienced training team exclusively at the National Brownfield Institute, Wolverhampton.
Master the power of LC-MS/MS systems with our hands-on Operating and Understanding LC-MS course. Designed for analytical chemists, laboratory technicians, and quality control professionals, this course provides practical training to confidently operate, troubleshoot, and optimise liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry instruments.
Participants will learn to manage the complete LC-MS/MS workflow - from sample preparation and source optimisation to method development, data acquisition, and reporting. The course covers essential topics such as ESI and APCI ionisation, ion optics, quadrupole theory, mass calibration and tuning, acquisition modes (Full Scan, SIM, MRM), product ion scanning, and Data Dependent MS/MS (DDA).
Through interactive practical sessions, attendees will perform manual and automated tuning, method development, MRM optimization, and spectral interpretation, ensuring reliable, high-quality data. Emphasis is placed on system benchmarking, performance qualification, and preventive maintenance, helping users extend instrument lifespan and enhance laboratory efficiency.
Whether you are new to LC-MS or seeking to strengthen your analytical capabilities, this course equips you with the skills to develop robust methods, interpret complex data, and deliver reproducible results with confidence.
