EPA Vials

EPA vials are specialised glass containers used for the collection, storage and transport of environmental samples, particularly for volatile organic analysis (VOA) and total organic carbon (TOC) testing. They are commonly used for drinking water, groundwater and wastewater samples, as well as soil core samples and grab air samples collected in the field. Typically made from high-quality borosilicate glass, EPA vials are available in clear glass for general testing and amber glass to help protect light-sensitive compounds from degradation.

Designed to help minimise contamination and preserve sample integrity, EPA vials are often pre-cleaned or certified to meet U.S. EPA protocols or equivalent environmental testing requirements. Common closure options include open-top polypropylene caps with PTFE/silicone septa, allowing samples to be accessed by syringe without fully opening the vial. This helps reduce evaporation and sample loss, making EPA vials a reliable choice for VOC analysis, TOC testing and other sensitive environmental monitoring workflows.
