Gilson EXTRACTMAN
The EXTRACTMAN magnetic bead extraction platform from Gilson is designed for rapid and gentle isolation of target proteins using Exclusion-based Sample Preparation (ESP) technology. Unlike conventional magnetic bead workflows that rely on repeated pipetting and liquid transfers, EXTRACTMAN moves bead–analyte complexes through immiscible phases using surface tension and hydrophobic interactions. This approach minimises shear forces and sample handling, helping to preserve weak or transient molecular interactions during purification.
EXTRACTMAN is commonly used for co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) and other affinity-based workflows where sample integrity is critical. By pairing ESP with non-porous paramagnetic beads, the platform enables efficient purification without lengthy wash steps or sample dilution. The slide-based mechanism allows up to four samples to be processed in parallel and is compatible with a wide range of commercially available magnetic bead kits for protein, DNA, RNA, and mRNA isolation.
