Gilson FC 204 Fraction Collector

The Gilson FC 204 Fraction Collector is a high-capacity system designed for fraction collection across a wide range of liquid chromatography applications, from analytical to preparative flow rates. It is typically used in conjunction with a peristaltic pump and supports both standalone operation and control via TRILUTION LC software. The built-in keypad provides direct, local control for method setup and routine operation, while multiple input/output connections allow straightforward integration with FPLC, flash chromatography and HPLC systems.

With a compact footprint suitable for use in fume hoods and biosafety cabinets, the FC 204 is designed for safe handling of hazardous or biological materials. The system is supplied with a 3-way diverter valve, allowing column void volumes, equilibration phases and non-relevant peaks to be diverted to waste, improving collection efficiency. Two model variants are available to support different flow rate requirements, ensuring appropriate performance for both lower-flow analytical applications and higher-flow preparative separations.

Features

  • Model Variants Available – Supplied as FC 204 (part number 171041-GIL) for flow rates up to 20 mL/min, or FC 204 (part number 171043-GIL) for flow rates up to 200 mL/min
  • Wide Flow Rate Compatibility – Suitable for analytical to preparative flow rates when paired with a peristaltic pump
  • 3-Way Diverter Valve – Enables diversion of void volumes, equilibration phases or unwanted peaks to waste, and
  • Standalone or Software-Controlled Operation – Operates independently via the integrated keypad or under TRILUTION LC software control
  • High-Capacity Collection – Holds four racks accommodating up to 240 fractions (13 × 100 mm tubes), up to 176 fractions (18 × 180 mm tubes), or up to eight shallow- or deep-well microplates
  • Multicolumn Collection Capability – Optional multicolumn adapter supports parallel fraction collection from up to 18 independent channels
  • System Integration – Multiple input/output contacts allow easy connection to a wide range of chromatography systems, including FPLC, flash chromatography and HPLC
  • Compact, Contamination-Conscious Design – Small footprint suitable for fume hoods and biosafety cabinets, with an easy-to-sterilise flow path to reduce contamination risk
