Agilent Captiva Filter Vials
Agilent Captiva filter vials remove particulates from your sample and are ideal for simple mechanical filtration. Filtering samples before analysis can extend column lifetime, decrease instrument downtime, and improve sample integrity. Captiva filter vials reduce the steps in your GC or HPLC workflow. Just fill, cover, and plunge.
Filter vials are a fast, economical, and environmentally conscience way to filter samples. The single, convenient, and easy-to-use unit replaces the combination of syringe filters, syringes, autosampler vials, septa, and caps. With Captiva filter vials, there are fewer touchpoints in the sample journey, meaning fewer chances for contamination. Plus, they allow you to filter only what you need for analysis, saving time.
Available in both 0.2 µm (white septum) and 0.45 µm (red septum) pore sizes, as well as non-slit and pre-slit formats, in a variety of membrane choices to meet your application needs. Caps are colour-coded based on membrane type for easy identification. Choose from:
- PTFE (light blue) is most suitable for organic solvents
- Nylon (blue) is a versatile filter for particulate filtration from both aqueous and organic matrices
- PES (light green) is a great choice for protein analysis applications due to their low protein binding
- Regenerated cellulose (teal) is good for general filtration of aqueous based samples
- Syringeless filters provide fast, economical sample filtration before GC or HPLC analysis
- Filtration takes place inside the vial, reducing the number of steps and consumables required
- Filter vial design replaces the need for syringes, syringe filters, and a separate vial and cap
- Fewer touchpoints in your sample journey mean fewer chances for contamination
- Prevents even small particulates from clogging your column inlet, preventing high backpressure, retention-time shift, and resolution loss – which improves data quality
- Environmentally friendly design means less glass and plastic are discarded during sample filtration process
- Maximum fill line on the side of the vial, suitable for filtering a maximum of 1 mL
- Colour coded septa to differentiate pore size: red septa are 0.45 µm and white septa are 0.2 µm porosity
- Non-slit and pre-slit septa options available
- Colour-coded caps based on membrane type for easy identification: PTFE (light blue), nylon (blue), PES (light green), regenerated cellulose (teal)
- Closure tool available to use with multiple filter vials simultaneously
