Agilent CP-Al2O3 PLOT GC Columns
Agilent J&W Aluminum oxide PLOT columns offer high selectivity for separating ppm levels of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons in process streams. These columns analyse more compounds in a single run than packed columns, while still delivering higher resolution and faster analysis times. Choice of two selectivities covers a broad range of applications
CP Al2O3/KCl has an apolar surface to separate ppm levels of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons in a main stream of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons
CP Al2O3/Na2SO4 has a polar surface to separate ppm levels of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons in a main stream of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons
CP-Al2O3/KCl GC Columns
Agilent J&W CP-Al2O3/KCl is an aluminum oxide PLOT column that offers high selectivity for separating ppm levels of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons in a main stream of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons. The KCl deactivation salt results in relatively apolar Al2O3 surface. These columns analyse more compounds in a single run than packed columns, while still delivering higher resolution and faster analysis times. When compared to liquid stationary phases, CP-Al2O3 provides increased selectivity and allows all C1 – C5 hydrocarbon isomers to be separated. CP-Al2O3 operates without the need for sub-ambient cooling.
- The KCl deactivation salt results in a relatively apolar Al2O3 surface
- High capacity thick films
- No need for sub-ambient cooling simplifies operation
- Available in Fused Silica and UltiMetal

CP-Al2O3/Na2SO4 GC Columns
Agilent J&W CP-Al2O3/Na2SO4 is an aluminum oxide PLOT column that offers high selectivity for separating ppm levels of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons in a main stream of C1 – C5 hydrocarbons. The Na2SO4 deactivation salt provides a polar Al2O3 surface, so that unsaturated compounds such as ethylene and acetylene are retained longer.
- The Na2SO4 deactivation provides a polar surface. Unsaturated compounds such as ethylene and acetylene (ethyne) are retained longer
- High capacity thick films
- No need for sub-ambient cooling simplifies operation
- Available in Fused Silica and UltiMetal
Similar Phases: Al2O3/Na2SO4, Rt-Alumina PLOT, Alumina PLOT, Rt-Alumina BOND/Na2SO4, MXT-AluminaBOND/Na2SO4, Alumina sulfate PLOT
UltiMetal columns are engineered to combine the robustness of stainless steel with advanced surface deactivation for excellent peak shape.
A 7 inch cage is the most common GC column format, compatible with Agilent 5890, 6890, 7820, 7890, 8860, and 8890 series GC systems, and all non-Agilent GC systems with a similarly sized oven. The 5 inch cage format is designed for smaller GC ovens e.g. for the Agilent GC 6850.
