Agilent CP-Chirasil Val GC Columns

Agilent J&W CP-Chirasil Val columns are designed for the separation of optically active compounds, especially amino acids. They have lower bleed levels than other phases with a maximum temperature of 200°C, isothermally and programmed. Both antipodes of the phase are available. On Chirasil-L-Val, D-amino acids elute before the L-amino acids, while on Chirasil-D-Val this elution order is reversed. This is especially valuable when determining the optical purity of compounds. Selecting the column from which the minor component elutes before the major enantiomer results in the lowest detection levels.

  • Designed for separations of optically active compounds including amino acids
  • Both antipode phases available (D and L) for maximum versatility
  • Stabilized phase, over 50% cross linked for great longevity
  • Specially designed and tested for amino acid enantiomers for the ultimate in reliable data
  • Low bleed

Note: On Chirasil-L Val, D-amino acids elute before the L-amino acids, while on Chirasil-D-Val, this elution order is reversed. This is especially valuable when determining the optical purity of these compounds. Selecting the column from which the minor compound elutes before the major enantiomers results in the lowest detection levels.

A 7 inch cage is the most common GC column format, compatible with Agilent 5890, 6890, 7820, 7890, 8860, and 8890 series GC systems, and all non-Agilent GC systems with a similarly sized oven. The 5 inch cage format is designed for smaller GC ovens e.g. for the Agilent GC 6850.
